GOE Alliance Affirms Its Role as a Global Connector in Advancing the On-chain Economy at Davos 2026

Davos, Switzerland – [21 January 2026] — As part of the side events of the World Economic Forum Davos 2026, the Global On-chain Economy Alliance (GOE Alliance) participated in an international networking and cooperation promotion program hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, and co-organized by HCMC C4IR and VIFC-HCMC. The event formed part of broader efforts to present the vision for developing Vietnam’s International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City, while expanding collaboration with global partners across finance, technology, and innovation.

GOE Alliance’s participation at Davos marked an important milestone in Vietnam’s deeper integration into global financial and technological flows. In this context, the Alliance acts as a neutral connectivity platform, linking domestic initiatives with international partner networks that are shaping the future of the on-chain economy.

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony at Davos 2026

One of the key highlights of the program was the announcement and signing ceremony of several Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), held during the morning working session in the presence of Vietnamese Government leaders, representatives of international organizations, and members of the domestic and international business and innovation communities.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung — Chief Executive Officer of Sky Mavis and a Founding Member of the Global On-chain Economy Alliance — represented the Alliance in signing MOUs with Crystal Intelligence - the leading blockchain analytics provider in Europe, and Sumsub - a leading full-cycle verification platform that enables fraud-free, scalable compliance in Europe. These agreements aim to deploy highly practical, infrastructure-level use cases within the on-chain economy.

Two Key Application Scenarios under the MOUs

Cross-border Payment Infrastructure

The Memorandum of Understanding between GOE Alliance and Crystal Intelligence focuses on the development of cross-border payment infrastructure, widely regarded as a core foundational layer for international finance and trade in the digital economy.

Under the cooperation framework, the two parties will jointly research and promote the development of “payment rails” that enable seamless cross-border capital flows, connecting financial institutions, payment service providers, and enterprises through a shared settlement infrastructure. This model aims to:

  • Shorten international settlement times

  • Reduce intermediary costs

  • Enhance transparency and traceability in cross-border transactions

This application scenario reflects GOE Alliance’s strategic orientation toward advancing new financial infrastructure standards that can complement and gradually integrate with traditional financial systems.

Crypto Payments for International Tourism and Services

The second Memorandum of Understanding, signed between GOE Alliance and Sumsub, focuses on crypto and stablecoin payment solutions for the tourism sector — an industry characterized by high-frequency and high-volume cross-border payments.

Under the agreement, crypto payment solutions are intended for international tourists’ expenditures, including accommodation, transportation, dining, shopping, and other tourism-related services. The use of cryptocurrencies and stablecoins helps reduce currency conversion barriers, lower foreign exchange costs, and deliver a more seamless and convenient payment experience for travelers.

This is considered a highly feasible and easily deployable application scenario, with the potential to generate direct and tangible impacts on tourism and international consumer spending flows into Vietnam.

Cooperation within the Framework of Promoting Vietnam’s International Financial Center

The signing and networking activities at Davos were part of a broader series of programs, including the Networking & Business Matching sessions and the Working Luncheon: Vietnam International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City – Vision & Investment Opportunities. These programs were hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee and co-organized by HCMC C4IR and VIFC-HCMC, with the objective of presenting the development vision of Vietnam’s International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City and attracting international resources to support the city’s long-term strategy.

In his remarks at the event, Mr. Hoang Nguyen Dinh, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, emphasized the importance of international cooperation in enhancing capabilities in science and technology, finance, and innovation, while reaffirming the City Government’s commitment to building a development environment aligned with global standards.

GOE Alliance in the Davos 2026 Landscape

As Davos 2026 focused on discussions around restructuring the global financial system, digital transformation, and new growth models, GOE Alliance’s participation reflected the increasingly proactive role of emerging economies in shaping standards for the on-chain economy.

Rather than approaching on-chain technology as an isolated experiment, GOE Alliance positions itself as a coordination and connectivity layer where technological initiatives, market demand, and policy frameworks converge within a transparent and responsible cooperative structure. This approach aligns closely with the spirit of Davos, where multilateral dialogue and cross-border cooperation are regarded as essential to addressing global challenges.

Members of the Global On-chain Economy Alliance engaged in discussions with international partners, together with Mr. Hoang Nguyen Dinh – Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, and Mr. Nguyen Huu Huan – Vice Chairman of the Executive Authority of the Vietnam International Financial Centre in Ho Chi Minh City.
